Sheffield Independent Shops

04.04.19
Me and Chloe went to Devonshire Street in Sheffield city centre and  had a look around some independent stores and took so photos of things we saw of interest.

The first store we came across was Syd&Mellory's Emporium which stood out on the high street due to its bright attractive exterior. The store was small but effective, with jewellery and other accessories on one side of the entrance and then embroidered clothing on the other. With a sewing machine table in the centre where the shop owner was creating clothing. The intimacy of the store made it feel more exclusive and speaking with the shop owner made us feel as though the store was a pleasant place to be and you would be inclined to return.

The second shop we went to was called Vulgar. The shop had many unusual items inspiring our photoshoot. Similar to the previous shop  there was fun and engaging things and the shop owner was friendly welcoming us in.

After visiting a few shops in Sheffield we came to the conclusion that we wanted to use our models clothing as she has many items that fit the theme of our shoot.
