Myself and Chloe Gillings have partnered up for this module as our skillsets differ and compliment one another. However, our style is alike so when it comes to visual outcomes we should agree making our pair work well.
After an initial brainstorm, we have decided to focus up the dance element that was prominent within the 'Northern Soul' movement. As that form of escapism interests both me and Chloe and creatively we can work with that area.
Initial MindMap Ideas;
Dance; party, high energy, groovy, funky (funk it, what the funk), heavy beat fast tempo.
Music; soul, Motown, jazz, record, soft cell.
Fashion; patterned clothing, contrasting colours, bright vivid, heavy embellishment (gold).
Aesthetic; dance party, letting go, escapism, release, confetti.
After discussion, use have titled our project 'it's a VIBE', as a form of escapism from the real world and allowing individuals to remove themselves from reality and have fun.
